On Monday, the Government moved New Zealand’s COVID-19 status to Level 3.  From Wednesday, this will shift to Level 4, the highest level of containment measures to fight the spread of COVID-19.

This means that only essential travel will be allowed on the roads, people who can work from their home will be required to do so, and we will all be advised to stay home unless we are deemed by the Government to be providing ‘essential services’.

In light of this, the offices of Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou will be closed until further notice.

In the meantime, there are two numbers you can call between 8.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. if you are seeking assistance from our staff at this extraordinary time.  We will do our best to help, but there will be close restrictions on what we can do in the next few days.

If you are living on the East Coast you can call our Ruatoria free number – 0800 833 502

If you are living in Gisborne you can call our free number – 0800 676 768 (0800 NPOROU)

Our plan is to have our offices open again once we have put in place safety checks that will comply with Level 4 requirements.  However, our hours and services on site will not be at their normal levels until the status of the COVID-19 Response is downgraded by the Government.

We trust you understand the reasons for the steps we are taking.

Please check our website, facebook, RNP updates and other panui as we put in place new initiatives to support Ngati Porou and local whanau over the weeks ahead.

If you are showing signs of flu, and have concerns about your health, do not hesitate.  Call the NZ Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or call your hauora clinic.
