TKKM o Te Waiu o Ngati Porou has joined this kaupapa to help protect frontline staff. Starting with Ngati Porou Hauora Staff at Te Puia Springs Hospital and the Ruatoria Health Clinic who required 30 initially.

"He mea tino nui kia tarai kaha ki te awhina ki te arai i o tatau tangata e mahi ana i nga whare hauora. Ratau e whakamatautau ana, e tiaki ana i te hunga mauiui ki ro hohipera, ki nga Whare o Ngati Porou Hauora, otira, ki nga kainga maha" - ki ta Koka Gerry Heeney

Ruth Heeney Te Waiu Digital Tech Teacher is leading the production under the guidance of Tumuaki, Phillip Heeney.

"Our goal is to produce sufficient quantities to meet local requests. The production process is very slow because we only have one 3D printer. If there is another in our rohe we could be producing double the quantity. Future production is dependent upon the arrival of more PLA Filament which is ordered and expected to arrive soon"

Te Waiu Staff have manufactured approx 40 x 200ml and 250ml bottles of Hand Sanitiser last week, and 35 x 500ml bottles of Hand Sanitiser this week. On Wednesday they handed over 20 x 500ml bottles of Hand Sanitiser to Dr Jolly for Te Puia Hospital and 10 x 500ml bottles of Hand Sanitiser to Nurse Gina Chaffey for Ruatoria Health Clinic.

"I have 5 x 500ml bottles remainder which I will drop off to the Ruatoria Road Patrol ropu outside the Ruatoria Mormon Church, that can be distributed to Tikitiki, Te Araroa, Tokomaru and Uawa if needed"

Further production of Hand Sanitiser depends on the arrival of a new order of isopropyl alcohol

"The whanau of TKKM o Te Waiu o Ngati Porou thanks you all soo much for your helping to protect our most vulnerable, our Pakeke and Tamariki, the sick and impoverished. Nga mihi aroha ki a koutou”.

If there is anyone out there that can tautoko this kaupapa with more 3D printers or Isopropyl please contact Gerry and Phil Heeney at TKKM o Te Waiu o Ngati Porou, gerry@tewaiu.school.nz
