Special General Meeting of Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou Trust will be held:

The purpose of the meeting is to allow all adult Iwi members to consider and vote on proposals to amend the Trust Deed of Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou. The proposals will be presented as four Special Resolutions.
Presentation of Special Resolutions
Special Resolution 1:
THAT the Trust Deed be amended to remove the requirement that Elected Representatives must not number more than 40% of members on a subsidiary board (except where required by the Maori Fisheries Act 2004).
Special Resolution 2:
THAT the Trust Deed be amended to remove the requirement for Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou Trustee Limited to have subsidiaries (except where a subsidiary is required by the Maori Fisheries Act 2004).
Special Resolution 3:
THAT the Trust Deed be amended to add a new requirement that Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou Trustee Limited must conduct a review of the Trust Deed no less than five-yearly.
Special Resolution 4:
Do you wish to KEEP or REMOVE the “Noho Kaenga” distinctions and provisions in the Trust Deed?

Special Resolution Voting Process
Voter packs will be mailed or emailed to all adult registered members with current contact details from Monday 14 May 2018. Each voter pack will include an information sheet outlining the proposed Trust Deed changes and a voting paper. Votes may be cast by delivery to the Returning Officer in one of three ways:
- By ballot box at the Special General Meeting; or
- By posting a completed voting paper in the freepost envelope provided. Postal votes must be posted to the Returning Officer with the envelope postmarked on or before the closing date, 5:00pm on Wednesday 20 June 2018, and received by the Returning Officer no later than 3 working days after the closing date;
- Online via www.ngatiporou.com or click here, Instructions to vote online will be listed on the voting paper.
Internet voting closes at 5:00pm on Wednesday 20 June 2018.
Copies of the proposed amended Trust Deed with tracked changes are available online (click here) and hard copies from all TRONPnui offices in Ruatoria and Gisborne.

Adult iwi members who are not registered on the Ngati Porou Register, or who turn 18 years on or before the closing date (Wednesday 20 June 2018), may still participate by casting a provisional vote. Please contact the Returning Officer, whose details are provided below, to request a provisional voting pack.
