With the help of volunteers 2 cubic metres of both rubbish and recyclables have been collected or sorted each year. This Translates to 50 per cent waste diverted from the Waiapu Landfill.

Pa Wars 2020

In an effort to reduce the highlighted recyclables and non recyclable waste from 50% diversion to 70%. We will try
 having a water station to refill BYO water bottles instead of fizzy drinks, energy drinks etc...
 food and drink stalls run by marae, kura, kohanga, churches as a fundraiser instead of commercial stalls. BYO plates, containers, cups and cutlery.
 compostable paper towels, cardboard composted in Pine's compost bins
 Food scraps collected for pigs.
 Each marae will get a mixed recycling bin to use during the event.
 Take home what you bring to the event.
 Para Kore tent with education resources and recycling drop off.

Para Kore will be running a new competition called Para Kore Mean which will showcase food or drink produced by marae following Para Kore.

Creations will be shared during the event over the PA with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
