Dedicated painter recognised for 20 years of service to Ngāti Porou Oranga

Born and bred on the East Coast, Malcolm Pihama has dedicated the last 40 years to our iwi.

Last Thursday, we got to acknowledge his commitment and celebrate Malcolm's 20 years of service to Ngāti Porou Oranga!

Malcolm is a loyal employee - he was first employed by Waiapu Hospital Board (Now Te Puia Springs Hospital) in 1982, and worked under the board for 17 years.

He then moved to employment with Tairāwhiti Hospital Ltd in 1999, and held a variety of vital roles.

In 2003, Malcolm returned to Ngāti Porou Hauora (Now Ngāti Porou Oranga) and has been our dedicated Painter within the Maintenance and Facilities team for the last 20 years.

His loyalty to Ngāti Porou Oranga is not limited to his mahi, all of his children were born at the maternity unit at Te Puia.

He is proud of the mahi he and his team do, and we are too.
